The Hideout: Never a cover, always a party
Jul 25, 2010
Want to rub elbows with John Mayer and Brooke Shields at a bar with no cover? If there’s anywhere in the world where it may happen, it’s here in southern California, and more specifically, at The Hideout in Santa Monica. If you don’t see any celebrities here, you’re at least sure see some smoking-hot regular people. And unlike some upscale Los Angeles clubs, this bar has a humble and friendly staff that knows how to have fun.
There are a few beer selections here for $5 to $6, including Guinness, Corona, Red Stripe, Peroni and Amstel Light, but this is primarily a cocktail establishment. Look cute sipping your Bikini Tini, with Malibu rum, Midori, banana liqueur and a splash of pineapple with a cherry on top.
If you’re feeling bold, sample the Hideout’s specialty, the Hideout Hot ‘n’ Dirty. This dubious drink is made with Stockholm Krystal Vodka, cherry pepper juice and spicy Tabasco sauce. There’s a full bar here at Hideout, as well as beer, wine, champagne and specialty drinks. If bottle service is your bag, you can find that here, too.
At Hideout, there’s something fun going on every night. Check the events’ page or the Facebook page to get the skinny on events. You’re likely to find one of (or a combination of) the following: stand-up comedy, acoustic music, burlesque shows, karaoke, a DJ, a go-go dancer, wine tastings and half-price drinks.
The locals love the bar’s heated patio where smoking is allowed. In the summer, Hideout opens at noon, so head on over for some day-time fun-time where the party never stops. If you’re interested in booking part of Hideout for a private birthday party or event, check out the private party details.
HelloMetro Tip: There is a dress code here, and it is enforced. If you’re heading to the Hideout, double-check your outfit. They don’t allow baseball caps, flip-flops, hoodies, old tennis shoes or shorts. Men put on your funkiest button-down and ladies thrown on your favorite dress. It’s gonna be a fun night!
